  • 681 people die from Cholera outbreak

The United Nations has once again voiced alarm over the rising number of cholera epidemic victims in war-torn Yemen. According to the World health Organization, the epidemic has claimed the lives of at least 681 people and the outbreak has yet to peak. The report indicates an increase in the death toll of nearly 50 percent since late May. W-H-O says nearly 87-thousand suspected cholera cases were recorded, with medical facilities struggling to cope with the influx of patients. Aid organizations say Saudi Arabia's war on Yemen and its crippling sea and naval blockade are to blame for the humanitarian crisis in the impoverished country.
